THE ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING GROUP - A dream reference for anyone who wants to educate themselves on th
One of my favorite resources is The Environmental Working Group, aka The EWG! I reference it very frequently and it is actually one of the resources I used when researching ingredients in my products. The EWG is a non-profit organization that empowers and encourages people to lead healthier lifestyles which helps leads to a healthier environment.
I love The EWG so much because it is a resource for people of all knowledge bases and backgrounds and I encourage you to take some time an explore the wonder that is The EWG website. http://www.ewg.org/
You can learn about things varying from sunscreen to tap water to strawberries. In a world where we hear conflicting information on a daily basis, I feel confident visiting EWG because their information and resources are science based. Even better, they fully disclose how researched a chemical/claims about it's safety are.
The EWG has an abundance of information, but there are some specific areas I want to highlight for people that are just starting to delve into the world of healthy living!
Consumer Guides (one of the top tabs) is the best place to start!
Guide to Pesticides in Produce
Dirty Dozen Fruits & veggies with the most pesticides on them (You SHOULD buy organic)
Guide to Sunscreens
Worst Scoring Kids Sunscreens If the sunscreen you use on your kids is on this list, please toss it! Read all of the data on these toxic products!
Best Beach & Sport Sunscreens These are great options! I will be carrying Raw Elements in my store very soon!
The Main Page This page has great tips on sun protection outside of sunscreen!
There's so many more great guides for you to browse but these two are great for the summer season. We are slathering on the sunscreen and eating lots of yummy fruits and veggies (I hope) so we should definitely make healthy choices with things we put in and on our bodies frequently!
